Summary:System for airborne heating of a passenger space with outer walls 1 provided with windows, for example in motor vehicles such as buses, train carriages, ships etc., characterized in that it comprises an air blower 2, an air-heating arrangement 3 connected to the blower, for example a heat exchanger, preferably heated by coolant from an internal combustion engine, a main air duct 5 for distribution of the heated air, arranged next to the wall 1 and preferably directed essentially horizontally, and also one or more essentially plate-shaped air ducts 6 which are arranged next to the wall 1 between the window or windows 4 and the main air duct 5, act as heat- emitting side walls and, by a lower end, are connected to the main air duct 5 so as to receive heated air through one or more openings in the main air duct and to conduct this air through an internal, essentially plate-shaped through-duct to a slot-shaped outlet opening 7 at the upper end of the air duct 6, which opens at or at a small distance from the lower edge of the window, the slot- shaped opening(s) having essentially the same longitudinal extent as the window(s) below which the main air duct and the plate-shaped air ducts extend, that wall of the main air duct facing the passenger space being made of material with a good heat-conducting capacity and being in heat-conducting connection with a duct 11 for a heating medium.
