Summary:The plant which includes two cyclones (1,2) separates the pulp into a heavy fraction and a light fraction. It includes pipework (18a-18c) which connects the heavy fraction outlet (4) of one cyclone (1) with the inlet (6) of the other cyclone (2). Dilution liquid from vessel (17) flows through pipe (19) to pipe (18b) and is pumped (14) to the inlet (6). The outgassing arrangement for the stream of heavy fraction and dilution liquid includes a rotation symmetry chamber (20) which has a tangential inlet (23). The heavy fraction enters the chamber (20) and a core of separated gas (29) is formed at the centre of the chamber (20). The gas leaves via the outlet (24). The chamber also has an inlet (25) for the dilution liquid. On entering the chamber, this stream is also degassed by the gas core (29). The outgassed mixture of heavy fraction and dilution liquid leaves via (26).
