Summary:The lamp housing for the vehicle accommodates a number of different lights on a common metal base plate. This is stamped with a pattern of slots to form conductor tracks to each lamp socket. The tracks are joined by knock-out sections which are removed after the tracks are connected to the lamps by short leads. The ends of the tracks lead to press-on contact tags for connecting to a multi-plug. The lamp sockets are securely mounted in the earthed part of the base. The connections are thus simple to make and provide good heat conduction away from the lamps. The tracks do not peel off any plastic mounting as printed circuit connections are prone to do.
