Summary:1378438 Laminates SWISS ALUMINIUM Ltd 30 March 1972 [2 April 1971] 15142/72 Heading B5N A laminate comprises in succession a layer of aluminium, a layer of cured epoxy-phenol resin with a weight of 0À5 to 2À0 g./m.2, a layer of polyurethane adhesive, and a layer of polyolefin having a thickness of 0À012 to 0À05 mm. The epoxy-phenol resin is composed of a mixture of an epoxy resin (e.g. a condensation product of epichlorohydrin and di-phenol-propane), and a phenolic resin (e.g. a condensation product of phenol and formaldehyde), wherein the epoxy resin is cross-linked to the phenolic resin. The resin may be applied as a lacquer. The polyolefin may be an azially stretched polypropylene film. The laminate may be used for packaging foodstuffs.
