A buckle comprises a housing consisting of a base 30 and two side walls mounting a pivoted latch member 33 including a latch bolt 51 urged by a spring 35 to engage in an aperture 26 in a tongue plate 23 insertable in the housing and a pivoted push button means 34 which is pressed to depress an end portion of a portion 53 of the latch member to release the tongue plate, the portion 53 having two dimples 54 which engage the tongue plate during the release thereof to facilitate the disengagement of the latch bolt 51.
