Summary:FIELD: mechanics. ^ SUBSTANCE: high-pressure steel cylinder incorporates two bottoms, i.e. a spherical one with a neck and elliptical blind bottom, and a medium cylindrical part. It represents a one-piece cocoon, the cylindrical part being furnished, in zones on transition to bottoms, with bulges-collars arranged relative to matching planes of the cylinder cylindrical part and bottoms so that the length from the matching plane to the bulge edge on the side of cylindrical part satisfies the following conditions, i.e. A=(0.1 to 0.9)LB, where LB is the bulge length. The proposed method of producing high-pressure cylinder consists in gauging tubular billet in plastic yield procedure and roll forming in a cold rolling-out procedure allowing narrowing the tubular billet cylindrical sections for them to be cogged for bottom formation. The length of the billet end part intended for bottom wrapping is taken to be LEND=(0.8...1.2)D, where D is the cylinder inner diameter. The thickness of the billet end part is taken to be SEND=(0.2...1.0)SC. The cylinder is subjected to thermal treatment under the following conditions, i.e. alpha=(2-sigma02/sigmaB)>=1.16, where alpha is strength increase factor, sigma02 is the yield strength, MPa, sigmaB is the breaking point, MPa. ^ EFFECT: lower weight. ^ 5 cl, 2 dwg, 4 tbl
