Summary:FIELD: aircraft engine manufacture; adjustable nozzles for air-jet engines at thrust vector deflection. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes delivery of gas to inner cavity of supersonic part of nozzle consisting of doors; flow rate of gas admitted to inner cavity of supersonic part of nozzle is selected depending on required jet deflection angle beta at nozzle outlet. Pressure in inner cavity of supersonic part of nozzle is changed through change of expansion angle of supersonic part doors; some doors are provided with ports. Then, magnitude of total expansion angle is set depending on ratio approved by the Specification. Atmospheric air is admitted to inner cavity of supersonic part of nozzle by opening the ports; number of open ports depends on required jet deflection angle beta at nozzle outlet. ^ EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability of jet deflection due to simplified construction; reduced power requirements; improved dynamic characteristics; increased service life; reduced mass of device and engine as a whole. ^ 3 cl, 6 dwg
