Summary:FIELD: soil science, tool-making industry, in particular, technology for researching fractional composition of soil. ^ SUBSTANCE: method includes sampling soil, weighing, drying and sifting through a set of sieves with apertures ranging from 0,25 mm to 7,5 mm without shaking. Remaining fractions are manually gathered and weighed, after that each fraction is successively positioned on plate, positioned horizontally. One end of plate is jointly connected to frame, another one rests upon base, connected to links of raising mechanism. Plate with sample of specific fraction is lifted and when sample starts moving along working surface raising is stopped. Using coordinate ruler, raising height yi is determined and from formula friction coefficient is determined for each fraction against steel surface of plate, or against surface of plate covered with same fractional composition, to determine internal coefficient of friction of soil against soil. ^ EFFECT: increased precision, possible measuring of all required characteristics for evaluating operation of soil-processing seeding machines and instruments. ^ 2 dwg, 2 tbl
