Summary: | FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. ^ SUBSTANCE: process of processing propene-containing hydrocarbon mixture producing isopropyl alcohol and/or diisopropyl ether or mixture containing these products comprises (i) liquid-phase hydration of propene in one or several reaction zones at elevated temperature in presence of strong-acid catalyst and solvent reducing pressure in reaction zone(s); (ii) subsequent rectification-mediated isolation of desired product(s) from reaction mixture; and (iii) recycling solvent to reaction zone(s) inlet. Solvent is selected from primary alkyl alcohol(s) and its (their) mixture containing isopropyl alkyl ether(s) produced therefrom. Concentration of alcohol(s) in solvent is maintained high enough to dissolve all or most of water fed into hydration process in common liquid stream of solvent and propene-containing mixture at temperature existing at reaction zone(s) inlet. ^ EFFECT: simplified process. ^ 18 cl, 4 dwg, 10 tbl |
