Summary:FIELD: testing equipment, particularly to determine mechanical characteristics of road-building materials. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves deforming road-building material sample, for instance by applying compression, extension or bending force to the sample when movable gripper/support is moved at constant speed; measuring test load appeared in the sample under the action of above force and determining mechanical characteristics on the base of conventional criteria. To eliminate influence of testing machine compliancy on test results time interval between two reference test load values are additionally measured and speed of gripper/support movement is set to ensure that above time interval is constant for all tests. ^ EFFECT: increased results accuracy and reproducibility. ^ 1 dwg
