Summary:FIELD: polymer production. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of preparation of binder for lacquer materials, in particular to a method for preparing aqueous dispersion of low-molecular weight chlorosulfurized polyethylene for use in lacquer materials to protect building structures. Chlorosulfurization is carried out in two steps during 8 h at 65-70°C. In the first step, Cl2/SO2 gas mixture is used checking amounts of bound chlorine and sulfur every 0.5 h. In the second stage, reaction is carried out under the same conditions, after which mixture is cooled to 40-50°C. As initiator, 1% solution of azo-bis-isobutyronitrile is used and, as stabilizer, 4,4'-isopropylidenediphenol epoxide resin. Product is diluted with sodium alkylsulfonate and water, and then dispersed. ^ EFFECT: reduced toxicity and fire risk of chlorosulfurized polyethylene.
