Summary:FIELD: inorganic compounds technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention, which can be used in production of various modifications of aluminum oxides and hydroxides, aluminum salts, and so on, provides, in particular, hydrated aluminum compound of general formula Al2O3*nH2O containing 4, 5, and 6-coordination aluminum cations and characterized by surface area 50 to 450 m2/g and amorphous or poorly crystallized, or partially crystalline structure. When n = 0.01 to 2.99, average particle size of the powder varies from 20 to 150 mcm. Thermogram of this compound indicates exothermic effect in the temperature range 780-850 characteristic of regular crystalline structure. Oxygen-containing hydrated aluminum compound is obtained by rapid thermal-shock treatment of aluminum hydroxide at elevated temperature followed by forced cooling, said thermal-shock treatment being conducted in heat-insulated chamber under centrifugal force effect on aluminum hydroxide spread in thin layer on rotating surface heated to 330-1500 for a period of time 0.01 to 10 sec while simultaneously trapping releasing water vapors. ^ EFFECT: enabled preparation of chemically active aluminum compound not polluted with combustion products and having stable structure. ^ 5 cl
