SUBSTANCE: strain of bacterium Pseudomonas alcaligenes MEV is isolated from wheat rhizosphere and deposited in All-Russian collection of industrial microorganisms, Moscow, at number B-8278. The strain utilizes petroleum, mazut, diesel fuel, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons comprising from 2 to 4 benzene rings: naphthalene, phenanthrene, anthracene, fluoranthene, phenol. The strain is resistant to heavy metal ions: Pb, Zn, Mo, Fe, Cr. The culture Pseudomonas alcaligenes MEV produces biological surface- active substances (biosurfactants). The strain can be used for preparing preparation for treatment of soils, ground and surface waters from petroleum, products of its processing and also in the combined pollution with petroleum hydrocarbons and metals.
