Summary:FIELD: industrial microbiology, ecology. SUBSTANCE: strain of bacterium Pseudomonas stutzeri MEV-S1 is isolated from usual chernozem and deposited in All-Russian collection of industrial microorganisms, Moscow, at number B-8277. The strain utilizes petroleum, mazut, diesel fuel, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons comprising from 2 to 4 benzene rings: naphthalene, phenanthrene, pyrene, fluorene; phenol. The strain is resistant to heavy metal ions: Pb, Zn, Mo, Fe, Hg. The culture Pseudomonas stutzeri MEV-S1 produces biological surface-active substances (biosurfactants). The strain can be used for preparing preparation for treatment of soil, ground and surface waters in penetration of petroleum and products of its processing to environment and in combined pollution with petroleum hydrocarbons and metals. EFFECT: valuable properties of microorganism. 10 tbl, 11 ex
