Summary:FIELD: organic chemistry, polymers, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention elates to method for preparing copolymer based on trifluorochloroethylene (TFCE) containing hydroxyl groups and designated for application of protective coatings on metallic, plastic, concrete and another surfaces subjecting for atmosphere influences. Terpolymer TFCE of n-butylvinyl ester (BVE) and hydroxy- ethylvinyl ester (HEVE) as liquid coating composition is prepared by copolymerization of indicated monomers in xylene medium in the presence of azo-bis-isobutyronitrile, triethylamine and ethanol at 55-60 C and under the initial excessive pressure 4.7-5.5 ati by the pressure drop to 0.5-1.0 ati being without the additional polymerization product heating. BVE and ethanol are used in the amount 1.8-3.0 and 1.8-3.5 mole per 1 mole of HEVE, respectively. Polymerization product is purified by vacuum distillation off non-reacted components and solvent part as an azeotropic mixture using xylene as an azeotropic-forming agent. Invention provides to diminish the process duration, distillate amount, excluding two steps (heating and filtration) being retaining the product quality.
