Summary:FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of alkyd resins and paint and varnish materials based on thereof used for staining metallic, wood and other surfaces exploiting under atmosphere conditions and inside of compartments. Alkyd resin is produced by ester interchange of vegetable oils, colophony and glycerol or vegetable oils and pentaerythritol in the presence of lead 2-ethylhexanate as catalyst taken in the amount 0.01-0.03 wt.% followed by polyesterification with phthalic anhydride and polycondensation in heating. At the stage of synthesis of glyptal alkyd resin phenolic resin based on para-tert.-butylphenol and formaldehyde is added additionally and at the stage of synthesis pentaphthalic alkyd resin the mixture of benzoic and para-tert.-benzoic acid is added additionally. Based on these resins, light resins and, therefore, paint and varnish materials of different color gamut are obtained. Paint and varnish material based on thereof comprises different pigments, filling agents, solvents and, possibly, thickening agent.
