FIELD: restoration and protection of surfaces of articles subjected to various physico-mechanical and physico- chemical action. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes introduction of mixture of powders into plasma jet. One component of said mixture is selected from hydrides of metals of groups IV-VIA of periodic system, nitrides of metals of groups VI-VIIIA, non-stoichiometric carbides or nitrides of metals of groups IVVA. Other component is selected from group of non-metallic carbides, borides,, carbides of metals of groups VI-VIIIA, oxides of metals and metals depending on required composition of plasma coat.
