Summary: | FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves inhibiting development of trees by treating them with growth inhibiting preparation solution, such as 0.3-0.6% aqueous solution of contact-type insectofungicide of dinitroorthocresol or 2,4-dinitro-6-methylphenol in the form of water-soluble powder of ammonium salt. Trees are treated at the initial budding stage before phenological "green cone" stage in early spring. Method is used for protecting fruit trees from damage by spring frosts in regions with unstable early spring, where low temperatures of from -5 C up to -9 C may be set for short duration. EFFECT: increased efficiency in protecting trees from spring frosts, provision for avoiding damage and freezing of plants, stable yield and improved control of some kinds of insects. 3 tbl |
