Summary: | FIELD: salvaging and liquidation of ammunition, charges of solid-propellant rocket engines, in particular, methods for milling of charges of fire-hazardous and dangerously explosive materials, such as composite solid propellants, some explosives contained in projectiles and rocket warheads. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in the fact that a charge of fire- hazardous and dangerously explosive materials is installed on a rotary device, rotated and milled using a jet of air and cooled granules of carbon dioxide compacted to a density exceeding 1.4 q/cu.cm. These granules run out of an accelerating nozzle at a speed of more than 300 m/s, the accelerating nozzle is moved in parallel with the charge surface as the fire-hazardous and dangerously explosive material is milled to crumb. The jet of mixture of air and granules is fed to the charge surface at an angle of 30 to 60 deg. The claimed method makes it possible to preserve the charge casing for further use in direct designation. This method may be used for milling of a charge of inert material. EFFECT: enhanced fire and explosion safety. |
