Invention proposes rail steel comprising components taken in the following ratio, wt. -%: carbon, 0.71-0.87; silicon, 0.40-1.20; manganese, 0.70-1.30; chrome, 0.10- 1.20; vanadium, 0.05-0.20; titanium, 0.01-0.05; aluminum, 0.014-0.05; nitrogen, 0.007-0.020; calcium, 0.02-0.04; lanthanum, 0.001-0.005; neodymium, 0.001-0.005; cerium, 0.003-0.010; iron, the balance. Ratio of aluminum to nitrogen = 2.0-2.5. Invention provides the enhancement of impact viscosity at negative temperatures below 60 C, hardness of rail head rolling of surface and wear resistance.
