Summary: | FIELD: electrical engineering; separating materials for cylindrical or prismatic lead-acid storage batteries. SUBSTANCE: material is produced from mixture of electrolyte-immune polypropylene fibers of linear density 0.15-0.2 tex and 0.33 tex in proportion of 30-70 : 70:30%, respectively. Surface density of material is 35-40 g/sq.m. Air tightness of material is minimum 32 cu. dm/sq. cm, its breaking strength is minimum 3.5 MPa, and electrical resistance, not over 0.020 Ohm-sq.cm. Said material is primarily designed for cylindrical and prismatic storage batteries using absorbed electrolyte as backing; it can prevent unreeling of battery block of plates and is capable of holding active material on current-carrying bases at the same time preventing mechanical damage to main separator. EFFECT: enhanced strength, flexibility, and porosity of material. |
