Summary: | FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for checking thickness of ultrafine (monomolecular) coating. According to the method, ultrasonic vibrations are taken and compared with standard. Vibrations are excited and taken several times, each excitation and taking of vibrations is carried out at part temperature differing from its temperature at other operations of excitation and taking of vibrations. After each excitation of vibrations damping factor and internal friction in part are determined. Thickness of coating is judged by ratio of area of spectrums of internal friction and standard.
