Summary: | FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: primer has flexible steel ribbon and links arranged in succession and connected with one another so that each link may be rotated with respect to adjacent link. All the links or at least links of primers with the exception of leading and/or tail links are made detachable and are composed of upper and lower halves rigidly connected with one another and with flexible steel ribbon positioned in- between and having thickness of from 1/120 to 1/2 the height of primer. Adjacent upper halves of links are arranged in spaced relation with respect to one another. Surface of upper half extending along primer axis and facing flexible steel ribbon may be formed from three portions, with middle portion being made flat and both outer portions being oriented in radial direction with radius R1= (0.1-1.0)R, where R is basic radius of curved continuous casting machine. Flexible primer of such type may be used on curved and radial continuous casting machines for casting of section- shaped and bloom slabs. Primer of such construction provides for minimized formation of defects on ingot surface and breaks. EFFECT: increased longitudinal rigidity and simplified construction of primer, enhanced reliability and improved quality of slabs. 7 cl, 7 dwg |
