Summary:treatment of industrial and domestic sewage or sewage sediments; separation of suspended particles having size lesser than 5 mcm including activated sludge from sewage. SUBSTANCE: first, sample is drawn from settler. Then ash content of sample and loss of moisture in drying are determined. Type of flocculant is determined according to results of determination of ash content. Then, starting solution of at least one flocculant belonging to type determined is prepared. At least one of selected flocculant is added to selected samples in different amounts. Molding reservoir is filled in turn with samples with addition of flocculant and sample of sediment with flocculant is compressed by piston changing dose of flocculant in each sample and/or concentration of solution of flocculant and/or conditions of mixing the sample of sediment and dose of flocculant and/or pressure of piston on sediment and/or rate of delivery of piston and/or time of keeping the piston in fully submerged position followed by determination of moisture content of sediment after compacting. Then dependence of measured moisture content f sediment of solid phase on respective parameters is determined and optimal combination of parameters are selected; optimal combination of parameters is used for physical action on sediment. EFFECT: increased productivity; high degree of cleanness of separated water; reduced moisture content of dehydrated sediments. 4 cl, 1 dwg, 2 tbl
