Summary:FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes formation of highly basic slag; steel deoxidation by aluminum and melt blowing with argon; metal treatment with calcium-containing materials in the form of flux-cored wire which is introduced in two stages. Amount of introduced calcium-containing materials in terms of calcium assimilated by metal is determined: at the first stage, depending on amount of sulfur [DELTAS] in compliance with MCa = (1.5-2.5).[DELTAS] kg/t, and at the second stage, depending on content of residual aluminum [Al] in compliance with MCa = (0.3-0.7). [Al] kg/t. Calcium-containing materials may be used in the form of calcium-silicon alloy. Method of steel ladle treatment is improved by provision of conditions for reduction of oxygen activity in metal and simultaneous increase of activity of covering slag, obtaining maximum surface of metal contact with calcium-containing materials to intensify desulfurizing, removal of nonmetal inclusions and globularization of inclusions remaining in metal. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 1 ex
