Summary: | FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, continuous steel casting. SUBSTANCE: method involves putting successive vertical layers of reinforcing fireclay bricks throughout the height of ladle casing and working layer of refractory bricks; setting gap of size equal to 0.001-0.01 of brick size in working layer brick joint sites without daubing brick joints; applying finely-ground fireclay mortar daubing of 5-15 mm to reinforcing layer; setting gap of 10-20 mm size between daubing and working layer and filling gap with mixture of fireclay mortar and pelletized pitch, with content of pelletized pitch being within the range of 20-50% by weight of mixture. Upon heating of working layer, gaps between bricks are filled with thermoplastic material pressed out of pitch and fireclay mortar. Thus, metal is prevented from penetration into ladle. EFFECT: increased strength and wear-resistance of ladle lining. 4 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl |
