Summary:FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves illuminating patient with infrared radiation, recording reflected luminous flux, sending stimulus and recording pupillogram and its processing. The reflected luminous flux is recorded by means of infrared-sensitive TV-camera. The TV-camera is tuned to obtain sharp image of pupil and visually controlling it on the display unit screen. The stimulus is formed as light flash, pulsating acoustic signal or electric discharge applied to skin. Pupil size measurement is carried out in absolute units in digital form in each TV image frame. Initial set of pupillograms is recorded for every patient to create the individual pupillometric reference set taking into account applied stimulus type and to input into computer database. Pupil response parameters are compared in automatic mode to the individual pupillometric reference set of values in taking every following pupillogram. Messages like norm or deviation from norm are displayed. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurements; accelerated examination. 2 cl, 1 dwgd
