Summary:The invention relates to a process for coating the useful surfaces of a surgical instrument intended for intrasurgical assessment of surgical margins of tumours and determining the type thereof. According to the invention, the process consists in preparing, in an essential oil for medical use, a solution of metallic nanopowders of Au having the size of 10...30 nm and Ag, respectively, having a purity of 99.9%, in a concentration of 20...50%, at the ambient temperature, after which it is deposited in an amount of 0.01...0.05 ml onto the useful steel surfaces of the instrument, by centrifugation, at a rotary speed of 500...1000 rpm, the resulting film being dried for 120...180 min at the ambient temperature, heat treated in a vacuum oven of 10Torr, at 150...190°C, for 70...100 min, with natural cooling down to the ambient temperature, resulting in a nano structured coating of Au and Ag of uniform roughness, which adheres to the useful surfaces, is resistant to the usual sterilization temperature, oxidation- and exfoliation-proof.
