Summary:The invention relates to a high-entropy alloy and to a process for casting rollers for transporting metal blanks to heating furnaces in plastic deformation and thermal treatment rooms, the process being intended to reduce production costs by casting the rollers in shell-moulds and do not require lathe- and mill-machining, but a simple contact-surface polishing. According to the invention, the alloy is a high entropy alloy - HEA, comprising 25...30% Fe, 20...25% Cr, 20...25% Ni, 18...22% Mn and 3...10% Al, its mechanical properties being hardness of 650 HV and high wear resistance of 0.01g/6h. The casting process, as claimed by the invention, consists in obtaining the external layers of the rollers directly from the casting stage, using shell-moulds made of thermoreactive mixtures, by depositing a 5-mm layer of coated sand on the pattern-holder plates made of steel OL37, shell-mould extraction after tridimensional polymerization for 30...60 s and feeding to an enclosure heated to a temperature in the range of 170...200°C, for finishing the polymerization of phenol-formaldehyde resin comprised in the coated sand composition.
