Summary:The invention relates to a method and a system for on-line monitoring the operating parameters of high-voltage open-air lines within the electric power transport and distribution mains. According to the invention, the method consists in acquiring data from a module which is at the line conductor potential, using some line conductor sensors, i.e. current, temperature, acceleration and inclination sensors, followed by data acquisition from a line conductor stretching force transducer, from a line pole inclination sensor, from a fire detector in the area under the line or in its vicinity and from some weather conditions detectors, data which are used in the calculation of open-air lines operating parameters or of the parameters which are likely to endanger the physical integrity of the monitored line. The system , as claimed by the invention, consists of a module located just on the high-voltage open-air line conductor, which comprises some line conductor sensors (1, 4, 5, 6, 7), i.e. current, temperature, acceleration and inclination sensors, a data processing unit (8) and a Wi-Fi communication device (9), a transducer (10) for measuring the line conductor camber, a transducer (11) for measuring the line conductor stretching force, a fire detector (12), a transducer (13) for measuring the line pole inclination, a weather station meant to measure air temperature and humidity and wind speed and direction, respectively, a local data acquisition, processing, storage and remote transmission unit and an independent electric power source.
