Summary: | The invention relates to a process for preparing polycrystalline pellets of a MnGeSballoy, where x=0.5...1.0 and y=1.5...2.2, doped with Co or Fe, this ferromagnetic system being meant to be used in the process of manufacturing diluted magnetic semiconductors, with applications in spintronics, optoelectronics and information technology. According to the invention, the process consists in weighting the Mn, Ge, Sb, Co and Fe powders, in the suitable amounts and ratios, mixing them in the ball mill for 100...300 min at a rotation speed ranging between 400...500 rpm, pressing the mixture as pellets having a diameter of 10...30 mm and a thickness of 2...4 mm at a pressure of 8...10 t, thermally treating them in an argon atmosphere while using a single temperature plateau and a preset regime with various ramp and slope rates, after which the process of grinding the resulting pellets is resumed for optimization of alloy homogenization and for pressing new pellets, followed by a stage of melting and recrystallizing the last pellets in covered alumina crucibles, in argon atmosphere, using a thermal regime with three plateaus at a ramp and a slope. |
