Summary:The invention relates to a composite based on hydrotalcite-type compounds and volcanic tuff intended to be used in waste water purification and to a process for preparing the same. According to the invention, the composite comprises a volcanic tuff matrix comprising at least 20% clinoptilolite and a hydrotalcite-type phase in a concentration of 1...90% as compared with the matrix mass. The process, as claimed by the invention, consists either in precipitating the hydrotalcite phase at a pH 10, by concomitantly admixing to the volcanic tuff suspension with clinoptilolite in water a solution containing nitrates of the metals comprised in the hydrotalcite composition and a solution containing sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate, followed by ageing for 1...24 h at 50...80°C, separation by filtration and washing, or in physically mixing the hydrotalcite-type compounds obtained by precipitation and volcanic tuff, followed by extrusion thereof with or without admixtures of organic additives, drying and firing, to obtain a composite having absorbing properties. The composite claimed by the invention is intended to be employed in the purification of water contaminated with organic and inorganic pollutants. Invenţia se referă la un compozit pe bază de compuşi tip hidrotalcit şi tuf vulcanic, şi la un procedeu de obţinere a acestuia, utilizat la epurarea apelor uzate. Compozitul conform invenţiei cuprinde o matrice de tuf vulcanic conţinând minimum 20% clinoptilolit, şi o fază de tip hidrotalcit în concentraţie de 1...90% raportat la masa matricei. Procedeul conform invenţiei constă fie din precipitarea fazei de hidrotalcit laH 10, prin adăugarea concomitentă a unei soluţii conţinând azotaţi ai metalelor din compoziţia hidrotalcitului şi a unei soluţii conţinând hidroxid de sodiu şi carbonat de sodiu la suspensia de tuf vulcanic, cu clinoptilolit în apă, urmată de maturare timp de 1...24 h la 50...80°C, separare prin filtrare, spălare, sau din amestecare fizică între compuşi de tip hidrotalcit obţinuţi prin precipitare şi tuf vulcanic, urmată de extrudarea acestora cu sau fără adaosuri de aditivi organici, uscare şi calcinare, cu obţinerea unui compozit cu proprietăţi absorbante. Compozitul conform invenţiei este utilizat pentru depoluarea apelor contaminate cu poluanţi organici şi anorganici.
