Summary:The invention relates to a reversible photovoltaic cell with halogen, meant to produce electric energy. According to the invention, the photovoltaic cell is a layered planar structure forming an electrochemical system located on an insulating support surface having a porous cathode () with role of catalyst for electrochemical reduction, a membrane () permeable to the chlorine ions, laid in layers above the cathode () and an anode () made of silver powder applied locally and by gravity onto a mesh-type network of metal patterns made of the same material, arranged onto the upper side of the permeable membrane (), the electrochemical system reagent consisting of chlorine as gas, which is channeled through local intercommunicating enclosures so as to circulate from the upper side of the anode () up to the lower side of the cathode (), the thus formed cell being arranged in an enclosure having a window () made by the LCD technique at the upper side, this having the role of ensuring, by transparence and opacity, electronically controlled from outside, distinct situations of darkness and light for the functional stages specific to the electrochemical processes.
