The invention relates to a rubber and leather fiber compound and to a process for preparing the same. The claimed compound comprises Carom 1502 type rubber and Carom 60 type rubber in an amount of 2000...2500 g and 150...300 g, respectively, 100 g of ZnO, 30 g of stearine, 390 g of rosin, 400...600 g of chrome leather waste, having the particle dimension ranging from 0.01 to 1 mm, 500...750 g of Ultrasil VN3, 0...250 g of precipitated chalk, 12,5 g of PBN type antioxidant and 145 g of curing agents. The claimed process consists in plastifying the two types of rubber for 10...20 min on a roll, the cylinders having a temperature t= 35°C and t= 40°C, the speed being of 27 rpm, the distance between the rolls being of 1.5...2.5 mm, the supply voltage being of 380 V, adding ZnO, stearine and rosin, stirring continuously for 2...5 min and adding half of the amount of waste leather, and after 10...15 min of stirring, the remainder of waste together with the Ultrasil VN3 being added, adding further the precipitated chalk and the PBN type antioxidant after 10...20 min of stirring, the mixture being stirred up to homogenization, adding further the couple of curing agents and the mixture being refined for 5...10 min. Invenţia se referă la un compound din cauciuc şi fibre de piele, şi la un procedeu de obţinere a acestuia. Compoundul conform invenţiei este format din cauciuc tip Carom 1502 şi Carom 60, în cantitate de 2000...2500 g şi, respectiv, 150...300 g, 100 g ZnO, 30 g stearină, 390 g colofoniu, 400...600 g deşeu de piele cromată, cu dimensiunea particulelor de 0,01...1 mm, 500 ...750 g Ultrasil VN, 3, 0...250 g cretă precipitată, 12,5 g antioxidant tip PBN şi 145 g agenţi de vulcanizare. Procedeul conform invenţiei constă în aceea că cele două tipuri de cauciuc sunt plastifiate timp de 10...20 min pe un valţ, la temperatura pe cilindrii tde 35°C şi tde 40°C, turaţia de 27 rot/min, distanţa dintre valţuri de 1,5...2,5 mm şi tensiunea de alimentare de 380 V, după care se adaugă ZnO, stearină şi colofoniu, se continuă amestecarea timp de 2...5 min şi se adaugă jumătate din cantitatea de deşeu de piele, urmând ca după 10...15 min de amestecare să fie adaugat restul de deşeu împreună cu Ultrasil VN3, după 10...20 min de amestecare se adaugă creta precipitată şi antioxidantul tip PBN, amestecul fiind tăiat până la omogenizare, urmând ca apoi să fie adăugat cuplul agenţilor de vulcanizare, iar amestecul să fie rafinat timp de 5...10 min.
