The invention relates to a method and a plant for the purification of waste water. According to the invention, the method consists in oxygenating the waste water in a sewer main, by sections, in aerobic and anaerobic zones, thereby resulting a biological film which is serially moisturized and vented, resulting in a percentage of organic matter decay of 15...17%, on a length of 10 km. The claimed plant consists of an equipment container (1) wherein there is mounted an injector (3), a compressed air blower (2), an air-water ratio regulating valve (5), some manholes (6 and 9) and an ejector (8) for delivering the air-water mixture into a sewer.
