The invention relates to a process for preparing a mixture of flavonoid aglycons with antioxidant properties used in pharmaceutical and food industries. According to the invention, the process consists in extracting the dried and comminuted vegetable material formed of sea buckthorn pericarp and seeds with a diol, namely ethylene glycol, and further hydrolising with an aqueous solution of 1 ...15 % mineral or acetic acid and from the resuting mixture the flavonoid aglycons are extracted with ethyl ether, the ether extract being dried under vacuum, there being obtained a dirty-yellow product, which may be used as such or may be purified by decoloration with active carbon and recrystallization. Invenţia se referă la un procedeu de obţinere a unui amestec de agliconi flavonoidici cu proprietăţi antioxidante, utilizat în industria farmaceutică şi în industria alimentară. Procedeul conform invenţiei constă în aceea că materialul vegetal format din pericarp şi seminţe de cătină, uscat şi mărunţit, se extrage cu un diol, şi anume etilenglicol, şi în continuare se hidrolizează cu soluţie apoasă 1...15% de acid mineral sau acid acetic şi, din amestecul rezultat, se extrag agliconii flavonoidici cu eter etilic, extractul eteric se usucă sub vid, obţinându-se un produs de culoare galben-murdar, care se poate folosi ca atare sau se poate purifica prin decolorare cu cărbune activ şi recristalizare.
