The invention relates to an installation for studying the thermoplastic stress relieving, meant for establishing the optimum conditions for reducing stress in the welded metal assemblies. According to the invention, the installation consists of an electrically driven movable carriage (1) having mounted thereon a cooling device (14) in the shape of horizontal parallel pipes (16) connected to a manifold (17). The cooling device (14) is mounted on the movable carriage (1) by means of a support (15) provided with a positioning groove (a). On a support (23) there leans a weld seam (c) of a specimen (20), said seam being oriented to the moving direction of the movable carriage (1). Inventia se refera la o instalatie pentru studiul detensionarii termoplastice, destinata stabilirii conditiilor optime de reducere a tensiunilor din ansamblurile metalice sudate. Instalatia conform inventiei este constituita dintr-un car mobil (1), actionat electric, pe care este montat un dispozitiv de racire (14) sub forma unor tevi (16) orizontale si paralele, fixate la un distribuitor (17). Dispozitivul de racire (14) este montat pe carul mobil (1) prin intermediul unui suport (15) prevazut cu un canal de pozitionare (a). Pe un suport (23) se sprijina un cordon de sudura (c), al unei epruvete (20), orientat pe directia de deplasare a carului mobil (1).
