Summary:The separator comprises an accelerator installed in a line carrying carbon dioxide from hot decomposition of lime by coke in the prodn. of calcined soda. The dust particles are collected in a trap. The particles and the gas are injected into a stationary air cushion, for separation by water. This decreases the hydrophobic dust content to 100 mg/m3 or less even in gas streams of 700-900 deg.C.
