Summary: | The process comprises heat treatment at 80-125 deg.C of CuCl2.2H2O with or without AgCl or PbCl2 treated at 100-150 deg.C for 4 hrs. and with temp. rise of 0.4-0.125 and 0.4-0.1 deg.C/min. respectively. Pouring into closed moulds for pressing, and coating of the prod. with a thin film by dipping in AgCl-AgI or PbCl2 at 500 deg.C, facilitates the use of anodes of Al, Zr, etc. The discharge characteristics are superior to those of Cu2Cl2 electrodes and the activation time is less than 60 seconds. The mass capacity is 180 Ah/g. |
