Summary:A process is described for the preparation of an aqueous cleaning composition which produces foam contained in a compressible non-aerosol dispenser equipped with a container, a distribution head and liquid/air mixing means, characterized in that it comprises: a) approximately from 0.1 to 16% of an amphoteric imidazoline or ammonium surfactant, b) 0.1 to 16% of an amphoteric aminoalkanoate or iminodialkanoate surfactant, c) optionally up to 10% of an ionic surfactant, and d) water the said cleaning composition having a total surfactant concentration from 0.2 to 20% in which at least 20% includes a mixture of a and b. The composition improves the stability of the foam and its creamy appearance together with an excellent and gentle cleaning action. It is suitable for use in cleaning off make-up and facials, in foam and shower products, shampoos, etc.
