Summary:An optical connector (1) is provided with: a ferrule (20); a housing (30) that has a connector joining part (31) and a ferrule accommodating part (33); and a spring part (40) that is inserted into the ferrule accommodating part and that applies pressure to the ferrule accommodated in the ferrule accommodating part on the connector joining part side. The spring part has a first wall part (41), a second wall part (43), and a connecting part (45), is formed substantially in a U-shape as a whole, and is inserted into the ferrule accommodating part from the connecting part side. The optical connector is further provided with a spacer (50) that is attached to the housing by insertion into the ferrule accommodating part with the spacer holding the spring part. In the optical connector, the grabbing spread for the back end of the ferrule by the spring part is large and the grabbing property is extensive.
