Summary:The invention refers to the use of Reverse Transcriptase (RT) inhibitor compounds for the preparation of pharmaceutical compositions to counteract the loss of cellular differentiation in tumour and non tumour pathologies, said compound being able to bind the hydrophobic pocket on the RT subunit p66. Particularly preferred for such uses are the following compounds: nevirapine, efavirenz, delavirdine, corresponding salts and/or pharmaceutically acceptable derivatives thereof.
