Summary:The invention relates to a fastener (1) for a mounting rail (4), having a rectangular rear-engagement part (3), which has a threaded hole (6), and a holder (2) made of plastics material. The invention proposes that the holder (2) should be designed with resilient abutments (13) which retain the fastener (1) externally on the mounting rail (4) and, when an add-on part is clamped against the mounting rail (4), pass into the slot of the mounting rail (4) so that the add-on part butts directly against the mounting rail (4).
