Summary:An insert mould tool (10) for moulding an annular moulded portion (22) onto an insert such as a filter sheet (18) of a filter cartridge (5) comprises a plurality of mould pieces (12, 14) and means for applying pressure to the mould pieces. Each mould piece comprises complementarily shaped mating surfaces (16) and can be assembled to define an annular mould cavity (20) intersecting at least one mating surface (16) for defining the shape of the moulded portion (20) and an insert-receiving cavity (15) for receiving a portion of the insert (18). The insert-receiving cavity (15) comprises a sealing portion (17) extending radially inwardly of the annular mould cavity (20) for sealing receipt of a portion of the insert, the sealing portion being exerting a substantially evenly distributed pressure across an area thereof when pressure is applied to the mould pieces. Also disclosed is a method of insert moulding.
