Summary:The present disclosure provides a composition and method for promoting functional neuronal development in pediatric subjects. The composition comprises in some embodiments up to about 7 g/100 Kcal of a fat or lipid source; up to about 5 g/100 Kcal of a protein source; about 3 mg/100 Kcal to about 50 mg/100 Kcal of phosphatidylethanolamine; about 0.15 mg/100 Kcal to about 75 mg/100 Kcal of sphingomyelin; and about 5 mg/100 Kcal to about 75 mg/100 Kcal of docosahexaenoic acid. The methods comprise, in some embodiments, administering the aforementioned composition to a pediatric subject.
