Summary:The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a non-tower detergent composiiton, that includes a fluorescer. A process for making a non-spray-dried detergent composition is disclosed, which includes a step of neutralisation of an acid precursor of an anionic surfactant, in which an aqueous solution or dispersion of a fluorescer is mixed with the precursor, prior to neutralisation, wherein temperature of the aqueous solution or dispersion is in the range of 60 to 80 C . The invention addresses the problem of uniformity in the distribution of the fluorescer in the powder composition, which is generally relatively lower.
