PRODUCTION OF HIGH TRYPTOPHAN MAIZE BY CHLOROPLAST TARGETED EXPRESSION OF ANTHRANILATE SYNTHASE
An expression vector for increasing tryptophan production in a plant. The vector comprises a polynucleotide molecule encoding a chloroplast transit peptide (CTP) fused to a monomeric anthranilate synthase, wherein; (a) the CTP comprises the polypeptide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 21, 22, 28, 32, 33 or 36...

Summary: | An expression vector for increasing tryptophan production in a plant. The vector comprises a polynucleotide molecule encoding a chloroplast transit peptide (CTP) fused to a monomeric anthranilate synthase, wherein; (a) the CTP comprises the polypeptide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 21, 22, 28, 32, 33 or 36; or (b) the polynucleotide molecule encoding the CTP comprises SEQ ID NO: 2, 3, 9, 13, 14 or 17. The CTP provides enhanced targeting of the monomeric anthranilate synthase to the chloroplast of the plant cell when compared with the targeting of the anthranilate synthase by chloroplast transit peptide 1 (CTP1). |
