Summary:Disclosed is a method of diagnosing coronary artery stenosis in a mammal comprising detection of the presence and/or assessment of the severity of the coronary artery stenosis, wherein the mammal has coronary artery vasodilation provided by a compound of formula (I), wherein: each R is independently H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or phenyl-alkyl, X is -CH2OH2-CO2R2, -OC(O)R2, -CH2OC(O)R2 or C(O)NR3R4, each of R2, R3 and R4 is independently H, alkyl, alkyl substituted with 1-3 alkoxy, cycloalkyl, alkylthio, halogen, hydroxy, amino, alkly-amino, dialkyl-amino, or aryl wherein aryl may be substituted with 1-3 halogen, alkyl, hydroxy, amino, alkyl-amino, dialkyl-amino; aryl; or aryl substituted with halogen, hydroxy, amino, alkyl-amino, dilaklyamino or alkyl, R1 is (X-(Z)-)n-cycloalkyl-(Z')-, wherein Z and Z' are independently alkyl optionally interrupted by 1-3 S or non-peroxide O, or is absent, and n is 1-3. Also disclosed is the use of a compound of formula (I) for the manufacture of a medicament for diagnosing the presence of and assessing the severity of coronary artery stenosis.
