Summary: | An isolated nucleic acid sequence encoding the Ms45 male tissue-preferred regulatory region is provided. This male tissue-preferred regulatory region may be used in mediating fertility, such as in the production of hybrid seed in a male sterility system. The Ms45 male tissue-preferred regulatory region can be operably linked with exogenous genes; such as those encoding cytotoxins, complementary nucleotidic units and inhibitory molecules; and used to express the gene in a male tissue-preferred manner in transformed plants. |
