A protein which binds to osteoclastogenesis inhibitory factor (OCIF)
The protein OBM (OCIF-binding molecule) binds to osteoclastogenesis inhibitory factor (OCIF) and exhibits high affinity to OCIF. This protein has a molecular weight of 30,000-40,000 Da and an apparent weight of 90,000-110,000 when crossed linked to a monomer type OCIF. The protein exhibits activity...

Summary: | The protein OBM (OCIF-binding molecule) binds to osteoclastogenesis inhibitory factor (OCIF) and exhibits high affinity to OCIF. This protein has a molecular weight of 30,000-40,000 Da and an apparent weight of 90,000-110,000 when crossed linked to a monomer type OCIF. The protein exhibits activity supporting or promoting osteoclast differentiation and maturation in a co-culture system of the osteoblastic stromal cells and spleen cells in the presence bone resorption stimulating factors. A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of bone metabolism disorders is also described. |
